About BD IRON

Forged by Hand. Built to Last.

Every piece that leaves our shop starts the same way — raw iron, an open fire, and a hammer. No shortcuts. No mass production. Just the same craft that blacksmiths have practiced for centuries, carried forward with pride.

The Story Behind BD IRON

BD IRON was born out of a deep respect for handmade work and the satisfaction of creating something that will outlast the person who made it. What started as a passion for the forge has grown into a small, dedicated shop where every item is shaped, finished, and inspected by hand — one piece at a time.

We believe the best tools and home goods aren't manufactured — they're made. You can feel the difference the moment you hold one.

The Craft

Each piece is forged using traditional blacksmithing techniques: heated in a coal or propane forge, shaped on the anvil, and finished by hand. We don't use molds or casting. The hammer marks you see aren't flaws — they're the signature of the maker, proof that a real person put real work into what you're holding.

Materials are chosen for durability and character. Iron and steel that will develop a natural patina over time, growing more beautiful with use.

Trusted by Thousands

Our work has earned a Star Seller badge on Etsy — a recognition given only to shops with consistently outstanding reviews, on-time shipping, and responsive service. With a 5-star track record across hundreds of orders, we're proud of the trust our customers place in us and the craftsmanship we deliver every time.

"Handmade means someone cared enough to do it right."

Every Order, Made with Intention

When you order from BD IRON, you're not buying from a warehouse. You're supporting a small shop where the person who answers your questions is the same person who made your piece. We take that seriously — and we think you'll feel it in every order.

Thank you for being here. We'd love to make something for you.

Our Story

BD IRON is the vision of Ben Davies, a blacksmith who fell in love with the ancient craft of forging. What started as a passion in a small workshop became something real — but it wouldn't exist without Vicki Davies, Ben's wife and the backbone of everything we do.

While Ben focuses on what he does best — heating iron, shaping metal, and perfecting each piece at the anvil — Vicki handles the planning, logistics, communication, and countless details that keep our shop running. She believed in Ben's dream when it was just a hobby, organized our first art festival appearances, packed trucks, set up booths, and managed the operations that allowed Ben to stay at the forge. Without Vicki's unwavering support and belief, BD IRON simply wouldn't exist.

From those early days at local arts festivals to craft shows across the region, we built relationships with customers who understood the value of handmade work. Each piece told a story, and people wanted to own that story.

Today, we're proud to operate this humble online platform that allows us to share our handforged work with customers around the world. We're still the same team — Ben at the forge, Vicki making sure everything else runs smoothly — just with the privilege of reaching people far beyond our local community. Every piece that ships carries the same dedication and pride it always has.
